I'm about 75% finished with London Falling. Would agree with where you placed it on the matrix. I keep finding myself saying "are you serious?!" every time something is revealed.
I am curious too! I recently finished THIS HAPPENED TO ME. I haven't flat out hated a memoir in a long time but this one was terrible. The author contradicted herself multiple times. There were multiple points when I flipped back and forth between chapters trying to figure out if I had misread something earlier.
Sociopath was one--to be fair she says she is a liar multiple times. Careless People--enjoyable read but after a tech journalist I respect made it pretty clear that parts were likely not true. More-- mostly it felt like a real performance of maturity with glaring emotional insecurity (I felt gross after that one). Most recently really troubled by Nobody's Girl--definitely believe the abuse the issue is the weird tonal shift on lionizing the husband throughout after that abuse became public. Its a super tough read no matter what and I know why people would skip it--her family tried to fix it after she passed. I wish they could have had success telling that truth for her.
Reported propulsive is my quadrant. London Falling read like a thriller. Now I’m reading Fear and Fury. Two authors I discovered from your podcast, and recommend to everyone who isn’t sure about nonfiction!

Interesting. I’ve only read CARELESS PEOPLE from that bunch and yes she seemed unreliable but it was a fun read for me.
I used to think I wasn’t into nonfiction. Now, I know I like something propulsive! I loved London Falling and I’m currently listening to Strangers.
If you like propulsive Jon Krakauer is your guy.
