I know. I can’t believe we’re doing this, either. But hear me out. Sometimes hate-reading is a total joy. We need a bit of controversy and drama to break things up. We call this balance. It Ends with Us is a 2016 romantic novel from the prolific, polarizing, and bestselling Colleen Hoover. It follows Lily, who is caught between a new hot-surgeon flame and her first love. This is billed as Hoover’s “serious” book as it takes on the topic of domestic violence. Read with me to find out if it is as heart-wrenching, suspenseful and profound as fans have claimed. I’ve been side eyeingly (new word?) curious about this author for years. Now I have an excuse to read and see what the purported fuss is about.
I laughed so hard listening to this being announced on the podcast and said “it’s time to hate up on this book. I love being a hater.”
