Congrats on a year of Unstacked! I have to say, your Grown-Up Show & Tell posts are such a delight. I read them first thing in the morning while I’m still in bed and it is the best way to kick off the week! Can’t wait to see what the next year brings!

I love that! My first thing in the morning reads are sacred to me so I’m honored

HBD Unstacked!! I know how much work goes into this that we don't see and you gotta know I get a little shot of serotonin everytime I see unstacked in my inbox. Thank you for bringing joy and gossip and critical thought to my brain every week!

A whole year, yay! I love Unstacked. It fills in the blanks between the (very VERY ACTIVE) Discord and the podcast.

Happy birthday Unstacked! I loved getting an annual report, I only subscribed recently (a few months ago) so I feel like this was a great way to get caught up on all that missed! Looking forward to seeing what happens this year.

I am so glad it felt like a catch up. I was hoping it would! Thank you for saying so.

Congrats on one year of writing Unstacked. I was very excited when you launched this newsletter and I'm stoked to see it continue in 2025! I LOVED the non-fiction reading guide. It felt unique as a piece of content on the bookish internet and true to who you are as a reader. It has also inspired me to expand my nonfiction horizons. I'm eager to see what this year's guide will offer. I also enjoy your monthly reading recaps and when you promote your appearances on other podcasts.

I need to go back and look at when I began commenting with less frequency. I am curious if it overlaps with when I signed up for TSP Discord channel and began engaging more on that channel. Finally, RIP to RTKB although I'm sure that will make space for something new, like The Nonfiction Files.

I love that you connected with the NRG! I loved making it and can’t wait ot put another one together this year. And I agree TSP discord is so full of conversation it might zap some of the energy from here.

Love this!! The annual report is so fun and helpful to write imo! (And thank you as always for all the FAT TALK love.)

Thank you D! I appreciate you so much.

My experience tracks with all of this. I also really enjoy your monthly ranked reading wrap-up's including the audio!

Also noticed that most of your most popular podcast episodes include Sara Hildreth! I would love to hear her more on your main feed, too, and secretly hope you'll do a Book Club episode with her on a classic!

Also, this is random, but I just read and enjoyed a book and not sure if you heard of it. It's called WE BURN DAYLIGHT by Bret Anthony Johnston and it's a loose re-imagining of Romeo & Juliet set during the Waco Siege of 1993.

And yes! I started WE BURN DAYLIGHT but never finished it. I think I just got distracted. Maybe I’ll go back if you say it’s good.

I thought it was great! It is a slow burn, though, but the last ~1/3 really picks up.

I’m all in on the Nonfiction files! It’s already effecting the way I read in such a positive way. Also I love when you and your guests disagree on what you hate about a book. So juicy… re author interviews: I always skip over interview posts from all the publications I read. I just don’t like the experience of reading an interview and would rather listen… if that makes sense.

That makes total sense and i appreciate that feedback. Yes, written interviews are tricky for sure.

Whoop, whoop!! Oh, to be alive in Time of Unstacked. TY for the footnote acknowledging that I did not request you kill yourself on the NF guide, you just come by that naturally.

I wouldn’t lie on you. And also I know you’d be sassing me if I did lol.

Not afraid to admit that I weirdly loved your vegetable journey. 😂 Keep going! We love what you're up to and into. (And I'm with you on the comments thing - we as readers have all moved away from them, but I'm nostalgic and I'll never stop trying!)

That veggie journey was really fun. I miss it some weeks, too. Why do you think folks moved away from the comments?

Congratulations on your incredible year! This is such a thoughtful and interesting recap, and I'm sure a great help as you move into your next year of Unstacked. I'm a huge nonfiction reader too, so an extra thank you for all you do to spread the word about great nonfiction!

Congrats to one year of Unstacked! I’ve been listening to the podcast for a while but your bonus episode about Kendrick Lamar is what got me to sign up for a membership. I appreciate your candor and I love the work you do! 🎉 Excited to her the discussion on They Were Her Property! Keep up the good work!

I love that Kendrick was the thing that got you. That was such a fun convo.

I love you and Unstacked! Not gonna lie. I noticed the absence of Read to Know Basis and kinda miss it, but totally get why it's out for now. I just referenced the Jasmin Graham post in the last two weeks because I visually remembered the cover, so I dug through your archives (and then purchased the book ofc).

I’m so glad someone liked it (besides me) and that it helped get a debut authors book purchased. That really makes me feel good.
